Jersey Girls: MLB's unseen sewing heroes
This piece published as part of our All-Star coverage. I found out that Major League Baseball flies in seamstresses to work on jerseys...
When I started on the national investigative team at Scripps News (formerly Newsy), I was shooting, editing, reporting and producing. After a career of producing visuals, I transitioned away from that to focus on reporting, writing, and leading teams of photojournalists, data journalists, and correspondents to produce investigative stories. I wrote or was the lead writer for the in-depth companion text articles.
At the The Enquirer, my time was mostly spent shooting stills and producing short documentaries. But, sometimes I wrote. When I wrote for the paper, I often found myself being the photographer, video shooter and video editor. More frequently, I was a contributor to writers' stories with quotes and facts when I was shooting.
